Green Fields of France

from Rebels and Rogues by DruidSong

/

about

Also known as "no Man's Land", the song was written by Erik Bogel.

The story I heard was that Erik had gone "walk-about" in Europe. Some where along the way, he ran across a graveyard form WWI. After looking at it for a while, he wrote this song.

I think it's one of the most powerful pieces I've ever run across.

NOTE: Some folks will consider this to be anti-war. Others won't. Either way, the aftermath of "The Great War" was truly devastating.

At least some of the participants really believed that it would be the war to end war. Sadly, they were mistaken.
