Wild Mountain Thyme

from Lovers and Other Strangers by DruidSong

about

Also known as "Will Ye Go, Lassie, Go?" this may be one of the best known Scottish tunes.

I have always found the third verse a little puzzling. The singer professes great love for his lass, but apparently thinks finding another great love would be no trouble at all.

Compounding his lunacy, he thinks he'll find a new love growing on the hillside, amongst the heather.

Clearly he's had a wee bit too much Scotch.
